Matter: the New Connectivity Standard
Matter lets devices from different brands join the same smart-home platform, such as Apple Home.
Until now, a light usually had to pick one side. You either kept your existing system and skipped the new standard, or adopted the new standard and rebuilt everything. Manufacturers often had to make a different model for each ecosystem.
Our Approach: One Chip, Two Protocols
In F1, we put Zigbee 3.0 and Matter over Thread on the same chip, and kept Bluetooth as well.
- Zigbee 3.0: for homes that already use a Zigbee hub. Add F1 to your hub, such as the Philips Hue Bridge.
- Matter over Thread: for homes on a Matter smart-home platform. Add F1 to a Matter platform, such as Apple Home (a Thread border router is required).
- Bluetooth: for anyone who doesn't want a hub yet. Control F1 directly with the trytogo app.
